Welcome Message from the principal
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2011-12 School Year!
I¡¯m very excited to be your principal for the first time at SLMCS. To our parents and students, this year is again a year of change. This will be the first time that our school starts using Ma Li Ping¡¯s textbook in 1st grade. We are very excited about that. As we work with our students to help them learn Chinese, we very much appreciate the support that parents give their children at home as they reach their learning goals. The foundation of a successful school is the cooperation between the students, teacher, and parents.
Parents are a vital part of St. Louis Modern Chinese School. Parent volunteers in the school management team have been working productively during the summer to make the school become the best learning place for students to learn Chinese language and Chinese Culture.
The school starts on Sunday of 08/21/2011 at 1:30 PM. In order to make the school a great and safe learning site, we all ask you to cooperate with the requirements set by Parkway South Middle School:
• We recommend setting up a carpool to send your child(ren) to the school. The parking space is very limited. Please do not block any fire hydrants and restricted zones;
• Bring your child(ren) to the school on time and talk to them about the classroom rules on a regular basis;
• Pay for your and your child(ren)¡¯s tuition before and on the first day of school without any delays.
• Actively support and participate in school-wide academic activities and events such as via annual parent sit-in, parent-teacher conferences, and the annual student Pin Yin/Speech contest. Both school and the students need your involvement and our teachers will keep you updated on those activities.
Keep the school site clean and neat in the cafeteria area and all hallways and remind your child(ren) not to take or move anything from the classrooms. Be a good example for your child(ren) and your assistance will help us to maintain a good and long-lasting relationship with the hosting school.
School Schedule
1st period -- 1:30 pm
2nd period ¨C 2:25 pm
3rd period ¨C 3:20 pm
4th period ¨C 4:10 pm
Hope you all have a wonderful school year and see you at the school!
