About SLMCS

The St. Louis Modern Chinese School (SLMCS), founded in 1997, is a non-profit organization. The primary mission of SLMCS is to provide a nurturing avenue for students of all ages and ethnic backgrounds to learn the Chinese language, arts, and culture. SLMCS is an active member of Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS) with over 150 member schools.

SLMCS is operated in its 45,000 sq ft facility and its financial support is mainly from tuitions and donations from individuals, private businesses, and institutions. Its activities are also supported by volenteers. SLMCS consists of the Chinese Language School, the Talent School,&nbap; the Chinese Culture Center, and Yangzi Performing Art Ensemble. It offers 40+ Chinese Language classes for Chinese-speaking and non-Chinese-speaking children and adults. SLMCS also provides over 80 Chinese Arts/Culture, Sports, Math and college preperation, and specialty training classes, as well as a variety of club activities. The school opens from 10:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday as well as selected evenings. SLMCS is the largest Chinese School in the state of Missouri. We strive to continue making SLMCS the place for students to learn the Chinese languange, arts, and culture.
